專業介紹：

Program description ：The need for Resident Care Attendants, Home Support Workers, Long-term Care Aides continues to grow at an increasing rate. Resident Care Attendants provide and maintain a safe and clean environment in health care facilities and in patient's homes. They provide basic patient care, which includes answering call signals and supplying and emptying bed pans. They provide patients with assistance in activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing and grooming. Sometimes they serve meal trays and feed patients. To help patients recover , they lift, turn or massage patients, and they may also supervise patients' exercise routines. They take basic measurements, such as patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse. They collect specimens, such as urine, feces or sputum, administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas, and perform other procedures. They transport patients in wheelchairs or stretchers for treatment or surgery, carry messages, reports, requisitions and specimens from one department to another, and maintain an inventory of supplies. This program gives the student the necessary skills to belong to this “in-high-demand” occupation.

入學要求

申請人必須高中畢業，並完成招生面試和入學考試。這個專業的申請人還必須有良好的溝通技巧，簽署了無醫療刑事證書，從醫生處取得令人滿意的健康證明書，提交一份無犯罪記錄證明，並提供之前接受結核病測試的明確證據。所有這些程序必須在課程開始日期前完成。

Entrance requirements ：Grade 12/GED or mature student status. Applicants must successfully complete the admissions interview and entrance assessment. Applicants for this program must also have excellent communication skills (composition), sign a criminal/medical waiver, obtain a satisfactory certificate of health from a physician, submit a criminal record search, and provide evidence of clear TB testing prior to acceptance. All must be done before the start date of the program.
